Harkin Boat Building is based at Pine Harbour Marina which has amazing facilities and we are lucky enough to work along side other marine trades on some great projects. The business has been around for 20 years and is now under new ownership. Our director has a different take to most and this makes for a great work environment.

We undertake a wide range of work, from custom hard tops, repairs & maintenance, alterations in timber and GRP, new system installs, fishing systems, contracts and insurance work which must be completed to the highest standard.

Are you an experience boat builder looking for a new challenge?

 

We are looking for an experienced boat builder to come join our fast growing, hardworking, dedicated team at Harkin Boat Builders, based in Pine Harbour, Beachlands.

 

At Harkin, no two days are the same! With a newly renovated facility, our projects range from new builds to fitouts, custom work to maintenance, alterations to major extensions, and everything in between.

 

Must have:

  • 3 or more years’ experience in boat building

  • Boat Building qualification

  • Experience in building, refitting, and servicing boats including equipment installation

  • Proven ability to perform gel coat repairs and fibreglass repairs

  • Knowledge on how to apply construction methods and produce items to fit product specifications

  • The capability to interpret design drawings and information

  • Ability to work independently, on task and to a set time frame

  • Full time position

  • Mon – Thursday: 7.30am – 4.30pm

  • Friday: 7.30am – 3.30pm

  • Pay will be based on skill / experience of applicant

We require someone honest, Hardworking, has attention to detail, great communication skills, Positive attitude and a real drive to help the business grow & succeed.Do you have:

• 2 or more years’ experience in Boat Building or relevant building. Qualification is essential

• Excellent attention to detail

• Great team work skills and willing to learn from fellow professionals in the team.

• Planning and organisational skills, time management and the ability to prioritise

• Good communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Must be able to build, refit, repair and service boats

• Apply knowledge of construction methods and produce items to product specifications

• Use appropriate tools and machinery to construct items• Interpret design drawings and information

 

The position is full-time, generally working Mon – Thursday 7.30am – 4.30pm

Friday 7.30 - 3.30pm

Pay will be based on the skills and experience of the application To apply for this role, you must be eligible to work in NZ and have a very good command of the English language.The role is for an immediate start.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

QUALIFIED BOAT BUILDER
